Assistant Retail Operations Manager - Pacers Sports & Entertainment (Indianapolis, IN)

SUMMARY:

This position assists with the daily operation of all the retail locations, leads the merchandise warehouse operation and oversees the custom merchandise experience (Jersey Stand, etc.) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. In this role, the Assistant Retail Operations Manager supports the Retail Operations Manager in the creation of an innovative, premium retail experience for fans and staff, while continuing to maximize sales and further build all Pacers Sports & Entertainment brands.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for setting the schedules for managers, store and warehouse staff.  This includes the daily schedule and the schedule for game nights, souvenir stands, kiosk locations, and concerts.

  2. Performing the duties of the Game Night Manager.  This includes ensuring staff is in place, proper staffing levels are maintained, breaks are given, sales are reconciled and the store is closed at the end of the night.

  3. Along with Retail Operations Manager, responsible for the daily operations of the retail store(s).

  4. Responsible for assisting the Manager with the hiring, disciplining, & terminating of store personnel.

  5. Responsible for assisting in the training of sales staff on the retail system.

  6. Assists in the execution of the visual merchandise directives in all locations as set by Director of Merchandising & Retail.

  7. Assists in ensuring the physical maintenance of the store is properly maintained.

  8. Maintain the highest level of customer service thru the Elevate program at all locations both personally and through management of staff.

  9. In collaboration with Manager, ensures timely completion of all store reports and ensure their accuracy.

  10. Responsible for making the daily cash deposits and for the accuracy of these deposits.

  11. Responsible for assisting with counting, setting up, and maintaining stands during concerts/special events.

  12. Maintain knowledge of the custom jersey process, including how to make Fever and Pacers jerseys as well as how to maintain the equipment. 

  13. Oversee the ordering and inventory management of the Jersey stand.

  14. Oversee warehouse to ensure accuracy and timeliness of merchandise flow to retail locations.

  15. Responsible for managing Kiosk locations as assigned.

  16. Receive and inventory all merchandise deliveries.

  17. Maintain efficient system of storage of all merchandise in warehouse.

  18. Maintain clean and orderly warehouse.

  19. Tag all incoming merchandise.

  20. Responsible for physically inventorying all merchandise once a year in the Pacers Team Store and warehouse.

  21. Receive and distribute incoming shipments (UPS, FedEx, etc.) to office.

  22. Coordinate all outgoing shipments – oversee web order fulfillment process.

  23. With direction provided in planogram and template by Director and/or Associate Buyer, stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels at Fieldhouse merchandise stands.

  24. Help maintain Fieldhouse stands in good condition.

  25. Stock and maintain inventory levels in Pacers Team Store

  26. Other duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Box Office Manager

SUMMARY:

This position is accountable for the sale of tickets and control of receipts for assigned events through the supervision of subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Manage Box Office personnel (full & part-time), interview and hire personnel, oversee training, evaluate performance, make recommendations to improve both individual and team performance, and meet with employees to discuss goals, give feedback and develop plans for growth and improvement.
  2. Develop and maintain training material on Box Office policies and procedures.
  3. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests, and train all Box Office personnel in customer service standards.
  4. Assist in overseeing ticket window operation, estimate personnel requirements for ticket window, develop schedule, assign windows and cash drawers to sellers, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  5. Analyze historical data regarding trends in the events or repeat events to ensure optimal coverage and excellent customer service.
  6. Foster and maintain strong working relationship with Promoters, Ticketmaster, Vendors and Director of Booking, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Coordinate event setup with Ticketmaster and promoter regarding pricing, scaling, production, holds and manifest, VIP packages and parking for each show.
  8. Provide a detailed seating chart for TM to create static and ISM (Interactive Seat maps).
  9. Coordinate marketing efforts with Ticketmaster to increase ticket sales regarding each non Pacers/Fever event.
  10. Create Splash Pages for Non-Public offers thru Ticketmaster and Multi-show events.  
  11. Discuss group opportunities with promoter in conjunction with Pacers Group Sales Department.
  12. Communicate and distribute event information to various departments and ticket sellers regarding ticketing protocol for each event regarding event setup, on sale, presale, pricing/scaling map, discounts and VIP packages.
  13. Assist in event setup using TM Archtics regarding Suites and Krieg DeVault Club Season Ticket Holders.
  14. Distribute group information and oversee group sales regarding non-Pacers/Fever events.
  15. Utilize TM360 to create sold maps, reports analyzing trends/demographics, web conversion and manage inventory by using inventory control.
  16. Setup Feld and The Harlem Globetrotters on Tixtrack. Each promoter uses this program for pricing/scaling and sold maps.
  17. Manage and balance TM accounts regarding platinum seating, consignments and venue buys. 
  18. Request ESG security to control crowds during advance ticket sales for popular events.
  19. Coordinate and implement marketing efforts on shows with the Director of Booking upon the promoter’s request.
  20. Distribute detailed floor maps to Event Coordinator, Event Setup, Security, Event Supervisor, Promoter and Ticket takers to ensure seating has been correctly marked for each event.
  21. Plan, communicate and execute ticket relocations if event warrants relocations.
  22. Assist ushers in ADA relocations or seating solutions during events.
  23. Troubleshoot ticket issues regarding 3rd party, TM Ticketfast 2nd print tickets, complaints from patrons and TM Scanners and printers.
  24. Complete or review various status reports, review audit report, and complete sales status reports and the final Box Office statement for each event using best practices.
  25. Prepare Box Office bank deposits for assigned events, ensure pick-up by courier, and maintain records of deposits.
  26. Process any internal orders for non-Pacer/non-Fever events from venue holds for employees and clients as a backup to the Box Office Coordinator.
  27. Attend meetings when necessary, including weekly Facilities Staff Meeting, Facilities Operations Senior Team bi-weekly meeting in absence of Box Office Director, and bi-weekly meetings with full-time box office staff.
  28. Create, coordinate and maintain up to date event stats for various departments.
  29. Perform duties of ticket seller if extra window is needed.
  30. Other duties as assigned.

Event Production Intern - Pacers Sports and Entertainment (Indianapolis, IN)

SUMMARY:

Pacers Sports & Entertainment has an opening for an intern pursuing a degree in Event Management or Hospitality. This position will report directly to the Event Coordinator and is responsible for assisting with projects for the Utility Set-up, Conversion, and Housekeeping departments. This position will be required to work long and unusual hours at times based on the event schedule and the requirements of the show/event including evenings, weekends, late nights (3rd shift) and/or early mornings.  The candidate filling this position must have excellent organization and communication skills.

  1. Participate and assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of meetings and events at Bankers Life Fieldhouse 

  2. Assist the Event Production staff by producing weekly meeting sheets that are distributed company wide

  3. Act as the Event Coordinator during assigned events

  4. Assist the Event Production staff with administrative needs (i.e. scheduling meetings, generating instruction sheets, filing documents, etc.)

Game Operations Internship - Fall 2017 - Indiana Pacers (Indianapolis, IN)

Interns in Game Operations will assist in the coordination of talent bookings for Pacers and/or Fever home games; assist with the Pacers and Fever mascots on their appearances; assist with fan van appearances as needed, assist with invoicing and contracts as necessary for appearances and talent bookings; and assist in coordination and on-floor execution of game timeouts, contests, game acticities and events prior to, during, and after games.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of talent bookings; contracts and invoices as they pertain to our NBA and WNBA mascots
  • Assist in the coordination of Fan Van bookings and confirmations
  • Assist with attending Fan Van and Mascots appearances
  • Assist in the coordination and on floor execution of game timeouts; contests; game activities nad events prior to, during and after the game
  • Sit in on all Game Operations meetings and Marketing meetings.  Interns will be given various assignments and projects to work on including, but not limited to, interacting and exchanging information with other NBA and WNBA teams.
  • Assist with concourse set-up/tear-down before and after games
  • Perform general office duties as assigned.

The Gameplan: This is a great launching point to begin your career in sports ticket sales. You’ll learn how to help our group sales reps remain as efficient as possible. You’ll be doing a lot of their administrative work. Innovation Manager - Pacers Sports & Entertainment (Indianapolis, IN)

PS&E is currently seeking an Innovation Manager who will be responsible for executing innovation initiatives across our portfolio. Responsibilities include actively identifying and driving key initiatives through PS&E’s design-thinking based innovation engine process to quickly gain economic upside and/or operational efficiencies. The Principal Responsibilities Will Be as Follows:

Research and Documentation

  • Research and identify key market trends in sports & entertainment and remain abreast of strengths and weaknesses of internal and competitive solutions, as well as current and probable competitive product offerings, in conjunction with marketing, sales, facilities, and other internal/external stakeholders

Innovation Development

Position Requirements

At a minimum, each candidate should possess the following skills, experience and background:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in business, economics, marketing, sports, organizational psychology or related field desired.  
  • 5+ years of experience required, preferably in the sports, entertainment, and/or technology industries.
  • Deep experience of the sports & entertainment industries, design thinking, and innovation development, as well as familiarity with PS&E’s brands, including an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that currently exist.
  • Project management experience, from initiation and planning, to implementation and ongoing management, to completion.

Sales & Service Consultant - Indiana Fever - Pacers Sports & Entertainment (Indianapolis, IN)

SALES & SERVICE CONSULTANT – INDIANA FEVER

This position sells Fever Season Ticket Memberships as well as group tickets to individual games for the Indiana Fever, and on occasion, other events in Bankers Life Fieldhouse to businesses, organizations and the general public. In addition, this position is responsible for managing the service relationship with assigned Fever Season Ticket Member accounts. This position will successfully utilize outstanding communication and time management skills to maximize results in all three major category focuses of this job; selling new packages, servicing an account base, and selling group tickets.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Selling Fever Season Ticket Memberships:

  • Produce Full, Half, and Mini plan revenue for the team. Make outbound warm calls to past Single Game Buyers to move the prospect up the sales escalator into purchasing ticket packages. Build and maintain a pipeline for package buyers through a variety of networking and cultivation activities. Meet with clients and prospective clients and host face-to-face appointments to close sales and strengthen relationships with customers and prospective customers.  Work prospect events and attend networking events to develop and strengthen the pipeline of potential clients and to generate sales and enhance and advance the Fever brand.

Servicing Fever Season Ticket Members Accounts:

  • This position will focus on servicing clients in game and out of season. A primary role of this position will be to manage an account base of Fever Season Ticket Members. This position must provide outstanding customer service for our guests attending WNBA basketball games. By successfully managing season ticket account relationships, this position will be required to increase their Fever Season Ticket Membership base annually through customer retention, referrals, and high satisfaction levels. This position should also engage Season Ticket Members by educating them on MVP Perks and opportunities to support the Membership model. This position must attend all Fever games and events related to the Fever as well as those events (on and off premises) that further advance the relationship with these account holders.

Selling Group Tickets:

  • This position will be responsible for producing new group sales revenue. Group ticket sales include selling group tickets and executing Fan Experience Packages or traditional group outings for these groups.  Communication and outreach to maximize group size, group satisfaction and group renewal are top goals.  In addition, attention to detail and organization skills required for group event planning and successful execution of events a must.  This includes but is not limited to outstanding customer service leading up to and during the group event to ensure the group has a top notch experience so they will return/renew.

 

MAIN DUTIES

1.    Prospect or cold call for Season Tickets leads:

  • Investigative appointments—gathering information about the prospective company.
  • Discussions with key decision-makers—learning their needs.
  • Effective presentations—satisfying their needs through various combinations of hospitality including suites, season tickets, partial plans, employee group nights, etc.
  • Managing obstacles—overcoming problems or objections.
  • Accurate closing—executing contract, billing, and collecting revenue.

2.    Follow-up—implementing all aspects of the client relationship to ensure the following:

  • Follow-up on all deadlines, making sure all materials are on time.
  • Ensure proper delivery of all hospitality programs.
  • Coordinate details of group nights.
  • Attend client meetings to educate their support staffs on programs.
  • Submit timely reports to management.

3.    Sell group packages to individual games to area groups (schools, churches, youth groups, etc.).

  • Effectively plan and successfully execute the details of the group sale to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

4.    Perform game day responsibilities, including:

  • Service Fever Season Ticket Members as needed – greet them, visit them and their guests during the game or event, determine needs/wants/satisfaction levels, take action to fix problems or enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Work in conjunction with the Box office staff – authorize and solve issues relates to client satisfaction as it relates to the box office including but not limited to: will call issues; trouble tickets; upgrades; additional ticket requests; special accommodations; etc.
  • Setup and staff the sales area during games (Ticket Central)
  • Execute Group Sales responsibilities as assigned on main floor, entry pavilion, or other.
  • Visit clients in seats
  • Assist guests on main concourse as needed

5.    Other duties as assigned.
